About Us

At Urban Arts House, Christian Yecker and Deborah Wissel are crafting a space for creatives to thrive. Located at a historic Urban building on West Orange Street, the space is available for musicians, artists, writers, and makers to lease and host events.

Named as a nod to famed architect C. Emlen Urban who originally designed it as a private residence for Herman F. Wohlsen, the historic gem will primarily be a space for artists of all kinds to rent studio space on the second and third floors—giving them a home for inspiration and collaboration.

Urban Arts House will also feature a beautiful common space and art gallery on the first floor along with a full kitchen and a small performance space and classroom in the back.

“We’re excited to meet and work with like-minded people so this space can see its full potential,” Christian shared.

This month we have several offerings here at Urban Arts House. Whether you’re interested in creating the perfect cocktail just in time for your holiday party, or perhaps you’d like to try your hand at an art project. There’s something here for everyone. Take a look at what’s in store for November.

First Fridays

Join us the first Friday of every month to enjoy all of the lovely artwork at Urban Arts House. Each month will feature open studios of resident artists, light refreshments, and music.

Featuring Open House with music by Jeff Coleman with special guest Victoria Mowrer. Jeff will be playing many of his original tunes for the first time.

Leah Lindsey with Lancaster Distilleries will be here serving cocktails and Frustrated Artist cans.

Vibe: Think low stakes creative studio meets your neighbor’s open house infused with candlelight and apple cider. So it’s comfy and intimate!

Note: No art experience necessary. Come create and enjoy community!

We gather for the Red Beans And Rice Supper on the last monday of each month from 6-8pm. The maximum number of people is set to twelve, so we can all socialize and engage with everyone in the group. Bonus: you get to bask in an art gallery while enjoying a meal and conversation!
