PRIMARY EXHIBIT “Pilgrim Soul” Exhibit (Regitz Gallery)  Local artist Claire Giblin is to be featured in The Regitz Gallery.

“Pilgrim Soul”
This exhibition will contain several new works in a numbered series titled “The Black Series.”

I am inspired by certain artists, including Soulages, Rothko, Kline, Marden and most recently Kiefer. Placing color on top of the blackened paper as a ground has given me a strong sense of infinite possibility during what has seemed to be a very long period of uncertainty. I am comforted by the softness of the black ground shade, as much as I have loved the light that emanates from the ground used in most other of my works.

I have also included several older works in the exhibition that I believe offer a look at past efforts that are still alive after all the years I have worked.

I’ve based the title “Pilgrim Soul” on the poem “When You Are Old” by W. B. Yeats.  It is a beautiful tribute to age and love.”
