Enjoy live demonstrations from talented local and regional artists, along with a variety of fun and festive events for all ages. In the Gallery: Connecting the Dots, a Community ExhibitionOn view is Connecting the Dots, a group show featuring 60+ local artists! Each participating artist was provided a single circular canvas, and was asked to randomly pull from a pool of 11 colors. This chosen color would serve as the dominant in their pieces, but not the only color able to be used. The medium was open ended, the content was left to the artist to decide, and the results are a marvel of color and creative problem solving.
Enjoy this vibrant exhibition that celebrates the amazing creativity within our community!
Saturday October 18th 11:00-4:00pm: Color Your Own Circle Step into the curio. workshop space and create your own circular work of art! Play with Posca paint markers and colored pencils within a circle template. Have fun and leave with your work feeling inspired by the Connecting the Dots exhibition!

Connecting the Words with Caitlin Downs
One part collage and one part erasure poetry, connecting the words is a drop in session for all skill levels. Supplies will be provided—all you need to bring is an eye for the arrangement of text and images. Led by local artist and writer Caitlin Downs, the session is a guided opportunity to make your own visual poem.
Join Us for the Lancaster City Fall ARTWalk at Denim Coffee!
It’s the perfect chance to grab a cup of coffee, and take home a piece of artwork! Lynnsey Rae is an intuitive artist, floral designer, and digital creator whose practice spans textiles, surface pattern design, acrylic and watercolor painting, mixed media, and interior styling. Her recent series is on view at Denim Coffee for September and October. Her surface patterns are available on spoonflower for wallpaper, linens, and fabrics.
A master watercolorist and pioneer of the Precisionist style, Charles Demuth (1883-1935) was an early American Modern artist and a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Demuth Museum was established in 1981 in his former home and studio.
Today, the Demuth Museum offers a unique experience of Demuth’s artistic life and groundbreaking works through its collections, exhibitions, and educational programs that explore Demuth’s legacy.
Visitors can also enjoy the Demuth gardens, planted with many of the same flowers cultivated by the artist’s mother and featured in his renowned floral works.
This October drop in to see the Strictly Functional Pottery National. This show has been recognized as one of the top ceramic exhibitions in the country. The first of its kind, SFPN provides an opportunity for functional pots to receive a much deserved spotlight. Every year, SFPN proudly features some of the most talented ceramic artists from across the United States.This show
Come join us as we celebrate Matthew Apol, whose work As an Alternative to Violence and Belonging explores vulnerability, care, and connection through transformed materials and imagery.
For Fall Artwalk we will be featuring Photography by Cam Ferdinand, this is Cam’s 8th photo show at The Framing Concept. Cam will be featuring photos of Bermuda, the Outer Banks, and Ocean City, NJ. Also included will be some photos of local interest and of course sports photos. (#WEARE). As always, some “fun” photos, what Cam likes to call “rainy day” shots.

- Andrew, a Heart Artist since July 2024, infuses his artwork with humor and personality, creating lively cartoon-inspired pieces that delight viewers. His ability to capture the energy and spirit of animals, especially chickens, sets his work apart, bringing both charm and character to each creation. Skilled in both acrylics and colored pencils, Andrew works with confidence and independence, allowing his artistic voice to shine through. He enjoys exploring the gallery space and sharing his sense of humor with others, making both his art and presence a source of joy.
- Dylan Jones, a Heart Artist since 2024, creates work that offers a meaningful window into his personality and perspective on life. Favoring alcohol inks and colored pencils, he brings depth and vibrancy to his pieces, often capturing the spirit and beauty of animals. A significant inspiration in Dylan’s artistic journey is his strong bond with his mother, which continues to shape both his creativity and his outlook on life.
Art walk weekend: Find an amazing selection of fall and Halloween themed bowls and panels, including a new collection of bowls and paintings based on Italy. The paintings will be from the Lazio region as well as Tuscany.
In addition Gallery on Market will be featuring artist Tedd Davis who does unique collage work as wall hangings, much like sconces. They are very unique and sourced from local antique shops.
KAREN ANDERER FINE ART: Representing renowned and rising local, national, and international artists, we offer a wide range of distinct styles including the lost art of drawing, expressionism, impressionism, figurative, watercolor, and several different takes on the abstract vision.
Strength Is Beauty is a deeply resonant and collaborative exhibition from two California-based artists: René Romero Schuler (b. 1968) and Monica Johnson (b. 1966).
Dear friends, creative soulmates, and avid hikers, Monica and René draw from the grounding energies of the natural world, the ethereal fog of the Bay Area, and an unshakable feminine spirit to inform their work.
Over the past year, both artists have poured their energies into creating pieces that reflect a shared vision: that true strength is not only beautiful—it is essential, sacred, and deeply human.
Monica Johnson’s multimedia works integrate elements from nature, invoking a sense of wonder, movement, and harmony.
Her totemic pieces stand boldly, expressing poise, confidence, and elemental strength. These sculptural forms provide a powerful counterbalance to the tender, figurative works of René Romero Schuler. René’s figures radiate themes of self-love, healing, and inner resilience—each one a quiet yet powerful embodiment of emotional depth and nurturing energy.
Together, Monica and René present a visual dialogue—an immersive experience where feminine power and beauty converge in their most honest, grounded, and luminous forms.
Celebrate Fall Art Walk at Lancaster Art Vault with a full weekend of live artist demonstrations and creative experiences. From painting and felting to marbling and mixed media, join us to watch local artists at work and explore the vibrant artisan market
on Sunday.
Ann Benton Yeager will be outside on from 11AM-2PM demoing mixed media techniques on a large canvas which will include modeling paste, coffee grounds,
charcoal, acrylic paint and acrylic markers, india inks, along with colored pens and pencils. She will also demo the technique of acrylic pours on smaller works.
Ellen Silberlicht will demo wet-felting from 1-4PM on Saturday in the gallery. Ellen will bring her process to life with a hands-on wet-felting demonstration. She
will explain how she uses resists to create a variety of 3-D forms, offering a fascinating look at the artistry and experimentation that fuel her work.
Sara Stichler will be painting her signature watercolors outside from 11AM-2PM on Saturday of Fall Art Walk. Come visit with Sara and watch her technique as
she captures the beauty of the moment through her luminous, fluid watercolor style.
Melissa Zane will be outside her studio from 10AM-12PM on Saturday demonstrating the high-relief acrylic painting technique that brings her acclaimed
Illuminated Trees series to life. Watch as she layers texture and depth onto the canvas, showing how her distinctive approach creates the glowing, dimensional
quality that defines her work.
Robin Ashby will demonstrate the centuries old technique of paper marbling. Using inks and pigments floated on water, Robin will show how swirling patterns
are carefully transferred onto paper, creating one-of-a-kind designs full of movement and color. Visitors can watch the process unfold step by step and gain
insight into how this traditional craft inspires her contemporary work.<br>
Kristin Witbeck Lee will be outside her studio Saturday from 11-4 demonstrating the art of portrait drawing. Watch as she brings faces to life with expressive detail and refined technique. On Sunday from 2–4 PM, she’ll be painting en plein air under the eaves, capturing the surrounding atmosphere with her painterly style.
WithDRAWal Room Meet and Greet – Step into Lancaster Art Vault’s collaborative creative hub and meet the seven artists who make up the
WithDRAWal Room. Discover their diverse styles and techniques, hear the stories behind their individual journeys to art, and watch them create live throughout the day. While you mingle with the artists, enjoy seasonal treats—fresh cider and apple cider donuts—right in the WithDRAWal Room.

Established in 1965 by a group of artists and community leaders, the Lancaster Museum of Art moved to its present location in the Grubb Mansion, adjacent to Musser Park, in 1979.
The Museum provides a facility for exhibitions of regional, national, and international artists and offers educational talks & tours. We aim to foster an appreciation of the visual arts that respects and recognizes all, and present exhibitions as diverse as the community we serve.

Strictly Functional Pottery National
Nooks will be hosting “The Understory” a new art exhibit by Ezra Knappenberger, a local 12-year-old printmaker and artist. He will be demonstrating his printmaking at Nooks on Saturday from 1 to 3. Ezra’s been creating linocuts for the last 3 years, but also enjoys sketching and painting. Ezra frequently feels inspired by the subjects of nature and his Christian faith—often utilizing religious symbolism in his art.
Pennsylvania College of Art & Design is proud to present Unearthing Solitude, work by Fine Art Alumni Callie Brooke Morton ‘22. This exhibition is the culmination of Morton’s time as PCA&D’s 2024-2025 Fine Artist in Residence. The exhibition will be on view in the college’s Main Gallery from August 18 – October 19, 2025.
“Connecting memories, emotions, and myself to the work bridges together a journey of new life. Exploring themes of abandonment and identity through painting and printmaking, the work grew to tell the story of recovery. This body of work began in the midst of my addiction and through time found its conclusion in my life in recovery… Finding beauty and solace within destruction is what led to the title of this show. Unearthing myself through a path of solitude, battling personal destruction to achieve acceptance of my addiction and trauma.”

Red Raven Art Company offers a broad array of styles and techniques exhibiting original works of over 50 local and regional artists, as well as more than 500 fine art prints.
October celebrates Regina Martin with her latest series of ‘Deco Nouveau, Florals’, Justin Johnson with a new collection of metalpoint and acrylic still lives that focus on his favorite quotes from TJ Klune, and miniaturist Sherri Trial will be bringing words of affirmation done in watercolor and 23K Gold.
We are also highlighting Plein Air Artist Beth Bathe, Figurative Still Life artist Janet Smedley, and Lee Lovett is diving into her favorite things about NYC.
Join us for Fall Artwalk Saturday as three of our artists will be doing live demonstrations from 10 – 2 pm. Sheri Bare will be creating Clay Creatures! Justin Johnson will be demonstrating Metal Point, and Sherri Trial will be creating her miniatures without a magnifying glass!!! You won’t want to miss this!
During Fall ArtWalk, Third Story will be welcoming new artists to our Flat File of unframed original works on paper. The new work will be on display on our gallery tables. Also on view will be the “Menagerie” show of delightful creatures, featuring Angie Hohenadel, Reagan Lehman, Rebecca Sheuer and Mariko Swisher.
Celebrate the changing of seasons with us at This Is Happiness Studio during Fall ArtWalk. We’re celebrating with a Harvest Party — This season, our harvest is one of art, creativity, and connection. Experience Emily Keener’s newest art collection, Dance With Me, paintings inspired by the rhythms of dance and the lessons of life—paired with handmade ceramic vessels bursting with fresh blooms from the garden. Join us as we celebrate art, creativity, and community as we dance into the new season together.
Inspired by his own background as an educator, Frederick D. Swarr combines art history, education, and fine art in his series “Famous Visionary Artists.” The mixed media paintings begin with a deep dive into each artist’s work and personal life, followed by an incredibly detail-oriented process of reconstructing and enhancing reproductions of the artist’s work, and finally, a portrait of the artist is painted in the foreground. You may know these artists’ work, but can you recognize their face? Put your art history knowledge to the test!
Lancaster ARTS Hotel: A Celebration of Art & History

• For those looking for a creative pause, sketchpads will be provided, allowing ARTWalk guests to relax in the hotel’s inviting atmosphere and capture the beauty around them. Whether you’re taking in the art, reflecting on the hotel’s unique heritage, or simply finding inspiration from your ARTWalk journey, it’s the perfect place to take a break and create your own masterpiece.
Foxduck is a Lancaster-based design studio and apparel shop rooted in creativity, community, and local pride. Every design begins with pencil and paper, keeping the process grounded and personal before it’s carried through to bold apparel and branding. Each shirt is hand-pressed in small batches, reflecting the same care and craft that goes into the design work. Founded in 2015, Foxduck celebrates Pennsylvania’s culture, history, and natural beauty. Foxduck’s work tells stories that connect people to place.
Gallery Grow is excited to feature Will Mowery as our ArtWalk artist. Will paints for the pure joy of it, with works in this exhibit coming entirely from his imagination. Many pieces revisit paintings from the early 2000s, while others are more recent creations. His evolving journey reflects Gallery Grow’s mission of joyfully growing creativity in our community.
1) Mixtape Metaphysics at Modern Art:
A multimedia, participatory installation offering an opportunity to explore pressing questions about technology. Free and open to the public, visitors may participate in an interactive human algorithm game, borrow a walkman and listen in to a series of mixtape meditations about current technological issues, or just come talk with the artists, thinkers and creators of the project. At Mixtape Metaphysics, we invite you to slow down, listen, play, and interact with theoretical concepts around philosophy, technology, and religion.
2) Modern Art Peep Show:
The Art Peep Show is a studio within a studio, taken over by a new artist each day during the month of October. Participating artists have been assigned one day to contribute to the life-sized diorama in Modern Art’s Pine Street window, and given freedom to use the space however they’d like: to display artwork, put on a performance, or work on their craft for the day. Unlike a traditional gallery/studio, the only way to view the artwork/performance is through a small peep hole in Modern Art’s Pine Street window. Textile/mixed media artist Laura Roberts will be on view in the Art Peep Show during this year’s Artwalk.
Join us Saturday, October 18th for a Pamphlet Binding Workshop with Haunna Birdsey. Drop in between 1 – 4 pm to learn about pamphlet binding.
We will have live Screen Printing with Ninetyone Print Co from 2 – 4 pm Sunday, October 19th. Bring a shirt and have it printed !!! $5 – $10 sliding scale.
“Vine Bar is thrilled to present Places, a solo exhibition by Lancaster-based painter Jo Davis. The show features watercolor works inspired by her time in Tuscany, alongside mixed media, oil, and acrylic pieces that explore themes of place, memory, and emotional landscapes. Davis, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design who also studied in Rome, has exhibited nationally and internationally, with work held in private collections. Join us during Art Walk to experience her intuitive, process-driven approach to painting in a warm and welcoming space.”
Joseph Roach of JJ Roach Art is a 21-year-old autistic artist and lifelong resident of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His work speaks in patterns, precision, and quiet intensity. What may appear abstract at first glance is in fact deeply intentional and meditative—drawn entirely by hand, dot by dot, spiral by spiral, with no digital tools, rulers, or preliminary sketches. JJ’s journey has not been easy. Misunderstood in a school system built around standardized performance, he often felt invisible—told more about what he couldn’t do than what he could. Out of those struggles, however, came his art, his resilience, and his voice.
JJ will be at the Vintage Candy Shop on October 18th and 19th at 1pm working on his most recent picture.
Achievements
That voice has earned recognition:
- Winner, Kennedy Center’s 2025 Emerging Young Artists Program for Proliferation (currently on display at the Kennedy Center).
- Winner, Art of the State 2022 (First Place, Works on Paper) for Celestial Dreams, selected from nearly 2,000 entries.
- William D. Davis Memorial Award for Drawing (2023) for Paradox, making him one of the few artists to win two consecutive years.
- Finalist, Art of the State 2024 for Celestial Nights—a rare honor for three years in a row.
- Featured in the Eagles Autism Art Gala, the Lancaster Art Vault, and multiple state and regional exhibitions.
We will be featuring the following artists during Artwalk;
The Phillips Museum of Art at Franklin & Marshall College reopens for the fall semester with a lineup of new exhibitions featuring dramatic black and white photography and contemporary collages using money as the medium. Exhibitions include: ● Waste Not, Want Not: Collage by Mark Wagner provides a tongue-in-cheek look at the foibles of modern life through intricate assemblages of dollar-bill parts and everyday scraps. Wagner’s one-of-a-kind artist books are also part of this exhibition. [Photo attached: Tentacular by Mark Wagner] ● Grit: Labor and Resilience in 1930s America enables us to look through the photographer's lens and witness the resilience and determination of those who lived through the Great Depression and its aftermath. [Photo attached: by Arthur Rothstein] ● Reflections: An Oral History of the Civil Rights Era at F&M. In 2024, the Legacies Project at F&M conducted oral histories with nine African American alumni who were students during the Civil Rights era. Through photographs and personal accounts, this exhibition allows us to reflect on their experiences. [Photo attached: Benjamin Bowser, Class of 1969 from The Oriflamme, F&M yearbook] ● Stephen Althouse, Photographer: Material Representations features large-scale, black and white photographs, which center on worn equipment associated with labor and farming. Althouse juxtaposes ordinary things to express spirituality and human emotion. [Photo attached: Wheel I by Stephen Althouse]● Pennsylvania German objects from the Phillips Museum’s collection are also on view as part of the ongoing exhibition Ingrained: Celebrating Pennsylvania’s Cultural Heritage
